Sept. 3, 2023
The Sanctuary, Roosevelt Island
851 Main St., New York, NY, 10044
Ceremony starts at 5pm
We could not be more excited to invite you to join us for our wedding. It’s so rare to get to see all of your favorite people at once, even for just one night, and we hope you can attend. We wanted to answer a few questions you might have:
Ceremony & Reception
Where is this happening? The ceremony and reception will be at The Sanctuary on Roosevelt Island, which is an island between the east side of Manhattan and Queens. Here is a Google Maps link and an Apple Maps link. The ceremony will begin at 5pm.
How should we get there? Uber, Lyft, Taxi, etc. are all available to transport you to the venue. If you prefer public transit, however, you have a few options:
- The Roosevelt Island Tramway: The island has an aerial tram connecting it to Manhattan with gorgeous New York City views. You can board it at 59th Street and Second Avenue in Manhattan.
- Subway: Take the F train to the Roosevelt Island station.
From both of these, you can take the island's free Red Shuttle Bus to the Octogon stop or walk up the East River to the venue. For more information on getting there, see the venue's website.
What should we wear? This is not a black tie affair — standard wedding or cocktail attire is perfect. However, wear something you'll feel comfortable and look good in! We will be in suits. NYC in September can be hot and sweaty, so take that into consideration. Weather permitting, we’ll be both inside and outside for the wedding and reception. Most importantly, wear your dancing shoes! (or be comfortable dancing barefoot – no judgment from us!)
Are there other wedding events we can attend? We invite you to join us for drinks and snacks at Porchlight any time between 5pm and 7pm on Saturday, September 2.
Where should we RSVP? Right here!
New York City
Where should we stay? If being near the venue is your top priority, there is a hotel on Roosevelt Island called The Graduate Hotel, which we will be staying at the night of the wedding. It is a short walk along the river to the venue, or you can take the island's free Red Shuttle Bus. Outside of that, any hotel in midtown, the east side of Manhattan or the Long Island City area of Queens would be closest. No hotel in Manhattan would be particularly far, though. If you’re unsure about a hotel or AirBnB in a specific neighborhood, just let us know and we would be more than happy to help consult.
Do you have a hotel block? We do not.
Which airport should we fly in to? We would suggest JFK or LaGuardia (LGA), but Newark (EWR) is a perfectly fine option. If you haven’t flown into LaGuardia recently, the renovation is impressive!
